Embroidery

Sophie has been creating unique handstitched home decor to sell at local markets and breweries in the Boston area since November 2020. The content features traditional embroidery and stitching techniques combined with fabric collage work and the occasional wearable tech hardware to explore different astronomical and social justice concepts varying in size from 3 inches to 12 inches. In 2022, Sophie began framing her works on a bed of collaged fabric inset within shadow boxes to transition her work to the next stage of polished professionalism. Moving forward, she plans to translate her expertise into the creation of a cohesive gallery show featuring large-scale mixed media works highlighting the personal and the universal storytelling of bodily assault.

Sophie has gained public recognition for her fiber arts through features, shows, and residencies granted by supporters such as Aeronaut Brewery, Boulder County Parks & Open Space, and the Cambridge Center for Adult Education.
