SELF PORTRAIT

Self Portrait was created as the Capstone project completing Sophie’s Bachelor of Science Degree, with support from the Atlas Institute, in response to the gap in fashion-focused wearable technology. The wearable piece features an abstract interpretation of the Solar System on the back of a thrifted denim jacket to communicate the personal idea of a self-portrait: the personal is the universal. The jacket has four states of existence; UV-activated paint in vibrance, Glow-In-The-Dark paint activated, framing fiber optics activated, and fully de-activated.
