THE GOLDEN RECTANGLE
This 12-foot wide by 20-foot tall abstracted mural was created in partnership with CINE, E. Espelie, & NEST Studio for the Arts, and aims to celebrate the “golden” aspect ratios used in cinema throughout history and remain the standards of today. Each row of this large 1.66:1 (European widescreen) rectangle contains a different cinematic aspect ratio, listed from top to bottom below:
2.75:1 (VistaVision)
1.85:1 (Widescreen theatrical)
19:9 (Certain mobile phones)
2.39:1 (Anamorphic)
16:9 (Digital HD)
1.66:1 (European widescreen)
1.33:1 or 4:3 (Standard)
